Welcome to the Judith C. White Senior Center, a place where friendships flourish amid all kinds of social, educational, cultural and health activities.
For almost a half a century, Greenwich House has provided services for its elderly neighbors in Greenwich Village and the surrounding neighborhoods. Funded by the New York City Department for the Aging, the Senior Center is a vital resource for many in the community. It provides a safe, comfortable atmosphere where friendships grow among a spectrum of social, educational, and cultural activities. We serve breakfast and lunch daily to hundreds of the Center’s members who seek a hot meal. Among the more popular offerings are poetry, health lectures, painting, bingo, exercise classes, movies, sing-a-longs, and card playing. Birthdays are celebrated with dancing, music and refreshments. Day-long trips to plays, museums and other interesting locales are scheduled on a monthly basis. The staff also helps patrons to obtain the services, benefits, entitlements and referrals that maintain a senior’s well-being and independence.
