Information on Joining the Parents Association

Parent involvement in their children’s education is crucial. Our parents are as much a part of Barrow Street Nursery School as their kids are. The BSNS Parents Association (PA) is active in many ways—from fundraising and event organization, to assisting in the classroom or on field trips.

The PA enhances the mission of BSNS by organizing and implementing activities that bring the community together. The PA meets once a month (the 3rd Wednesday of the month) and any parent whose child is currently enrolled is encouraged to attend.

Run by a group of parents, terms are two or three years and there are between 7-12 committee parents can join, including: supporting our school’s environment, raising money for the school’s scholarship fund, planning school-wide events and updating our library. The PA also helps to organize the class parents and establish a network for each classroom to help disseminate information throughout the year.

The PA is a great way to meet other parents in our community and most importantly, to see our kids in action and help to create more wonderful memories while at BSNS.
