History

Our roots in New York City go all the way back to the turn of the 20th century, to a time when our city—and its many social problems—were growing at an incredible pace. Take a look at what it was like in the early days of Greenwich House, which first opened its doors on Thanksgiving day in 1902 to improve the lives of the expanding immigrant populations. Since then, we've expanded and grown with the changing city, but the one thing that remains crucial to our success are the people who come through our doors.
