In Remembrance

The Greenwich House Caring Community Center at Independence Plaza makes its home in the shadow of the World Trade Center and, like the rest of New York and the United States, was deeply affected by the events of September 11, 2001. To commemorate the 10th Anniversary, the Center welcomed New York State Senator Dan Squadron and New York City Councilwoman Margaret Chin for a memorial breakfast, where members gathered, shared memories, lit candles and recognized all who were personally  touched by the tragic day.

Those who gathered acknowledged the special connection we all share as New Yorkers, and reflected on ways to build community and understanding in our unique and diverse city.
